Gold & silver buying

Sell your gold in Wayne

Bring it in, watch it go on the scale, and leave with a check or cash the same visit.

How the offer is worked out

Three things decide what your gold is worth

There's no mystery to it, and any honest buyer will walk you through the same three numbers.

  • Karat. 10K is 41.7% gold, 14K is 58.3%, 18K is 75%. The stamp inside the piece tells us, and we test anything unstamped with acid.
  • Weight. Measured in grams on a scale you can see from where you're standing.
  • That day's market. Gold trades all day long. The price we quote in the morning is not the price we quote three weeks later.

What we take

Broken old jewelry collecting dust has value

The tangle at the back of a jewelry box is usually worth more than people expect. Broken is fine. Missing its pair is fine.

Marks 10K14K18K 22K24K585 750PLAT950 925STERLING

Gold

Chains, bracelets, rings, earrings, charms, class rings, dental gold, bullion and coins. Yellow, white and rose — the color doesn't change the value, only the karat does.

Silver

Sterling flatware, tea services, trays, candlesticks, jewelry, and pre-1965 US coins. Silver plate has no melt value, and we'll tell you straight if that's what you have.

Platinum

Settings, bands and findings marked PLAT, PT950 or 950.

Diamonds & watches

Loose stones and larger diamonds still set in old pieces, plus mechanical and name-brand watches. These get looked at individually rather than weighed.

Before you come in

A short, honest checklist

  • Bring photo ID. New Jersey requires it for every precious metal purchase. No exceptions, at any shop.
  • Don't clean or polish anything. It doesn't raise the price and it can damage a piece that's worth more whole.
  • Bring everything in one trip. Small pieces add up, and it's easier to price a lot at once.
  • Ask what we're paying and why. If a buyer won't explain the karat, the weight and the spot price, that's your answer.
